Adams Family Foundation Scholarship – The recipient must have achieved a junior standing majoring in one of the Human Sciences programs; have a minimum 3.0 GPA; and enrolled as a full-time student during the semesters for which the scholarship is funded. Preference is given to students from Rutherford or Cannon Counties of Tennessee. Financial need will be considered in the selection process.
Albert L. and Ethel Carver Smith Memorial Scholarship – The recipient must be a junior or senior majoring in one of the Human Sciences programs; have a minimum 2.5 GPA; and enrolled as a full-time student during the semesters for which the scholarship is funded. The recipient must have demonstrated financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
Rita Davenport Human Sciences Scholarship – The recipient must be a sophomore or junior in the spring semester majoring in one of the Human Sciences programs; have a minimum 2.8 GPA; and enrolled full-time during semesters for which scholarship is funded. The recipient must have demonstrated leadership in the areas of Human Sciences, campus life, and community involvement; and established meaningful professional goals. Financial need will be considered in the selection process.
Lucy Dye Scholarship – The recipient must be a junior or senior majoring in one of the Human Sciences programs; have a minimum 3.0 GPA; and enrolled as a full-time student during the semesters for which the scholarship is funded. The recipient must have plans to graduate with a major in the Department of Human Sciences and have evidence of pursuing a career in the field of Human Sciences; and demonstrated a positive attitude, loyalty, and dedication toward Human Science professions. The recipient must be from one of the following counties in Tennessee: Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Lewis, Maury, Montgomery, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson, or Wilson.
Gemini Scholarship – The recipient must have completed 25 credit hours; be an Apparel Design or Fashion Merchandising major; have a minimum 2.0 GPA; and enrolled as a full-time student during the semesters for which the scholarship is funded. The recipient must be a member of Fashion and Design Students (FaDS) student organization for a minimum of 1 year and actively involved with events and remain active through the term of the scholarship; and have demonstrated financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office. Preference is given to minority students.
Kappa Omicron Nu Scholarship – The recipient must be a junior in the spring semester (60-89 credit hours or 2 remaining semesters) majoring in one of the Human Sciences programs; and enrolled full-time during semesters for which scholarship is funded. Financial need will be considered in the selection process.
Margaret Putnam Scholarship – The recipient must be majoring in one of the Human Sciences programs; and enrolled full-time during semesters for which scholarship is funded.
Ernestine N. Reeder Honor Scholarship – The recipient must be majoring in one of the Human Sciences programs; have completed 18 hours of coursework in the Human Sciences Department; have a minimum 3.0 GPA; be enrolled as a full-time student during the semesters for which the scholarship is funded; and be an active member of at least one of the student organizations in the Human Sciences Department.
Roddy Memorial Scholarship – The recipient must be an upperclassman or transfer student majoring in one of the Human Sciences programs; have a minimum 3.0 GPA; and enrolled as a full-time student during the semesters for which the scholarship is funded. The recipient must be a resident of Tennessee. Preference is given to students in Rockvale or Lascassas communities of Rutherford County. Secondary preference is given to all students from Rutherford County. Preference is also given to students who have demonstrated financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
TXMD Experiential Learning Award – This award is for funding experiential learning experiences in fashion and design. The recipient must have completed 60 credit hours; be pursuing a degree in the Textiles, Merchandising, and Design Program; have a minimum 3.0 GPA; and enrolled as a full-time student during the semesters for which the scholarship is funded. Past recipients of this award are ineligible.
Requirements of the award include a 300-350 biographical statement providing specific career goal information and a description of the professional development opportunity the recipient would like to pursue with this award (seminar, conference, study abroad, internship, etc.), a breakdown of costs, submission of relevant materials to support the desired experience (portfolio, photograph, video, business plan, etc.). Two letters of reference are suggested but not required.
